Why can't I open up to people. I find it very difficult to share my feelings and thoughts even with those who are close to me??

If you are a shy person - that could be a reason why you find it difficult to open up to people. Alternatively it could be that, the impression people have of you - does matter to you and you wouldn't want them to get a wrong impression of who you really are. Hence you would be guarded in your behaviour and in sharing your feelings and thoughts with others. Maybe there is something else and maybe its just a small matter that can be easily handled. I feel - if you speak to a counsellor - he/she will help you get dowm to the bottom of the issue and help you find positvie solutions and effectively handle it.

Hi! The way we relate to people around us is mostly shaped by our own temperament and the social experiences that we have had. It also depends on what you mean by ‘being open’- that itself is very subjective; as what one person might consider to be ‘open’ another might consider it as too much disclosure of personal information. It’s best to directly discuss these concerns with a counselor - you might find that there’s something much deeper which needs to be addressed and is impacting your interactions with others.
