Along with meditation, you will also need to work on your limitations/ weaknesses and strengths e.g. if you have fear, anger, envy, laziness, etc., you have to address that. Meditation has great benefits, but you cannot avoid - addressing the issues, that you need to work on. Working with your strengths, identifying and addressing your weaknesses along with meditation will definitely help you immensely.

It really depends on how it makes you feel. As all individuals are different, meditation may or may not work for everyone. If it makes you feel relaxed and helps enhance any positive emotions, it can help to improve your mental health. So I would encourage you to give it a try (if you have not yet). Meditation may be one of the few ways that you take care of yourself or it may not work for you. If you have significant mental health concerns, please do talk to me or any other counselor on this platform.

Meditation is a great way to look inwards... in our bodies, our various systems that work together harmoniously, aspects that are comfortable and uncomfortable and so on. It gives us an opportunity to re-establish and strengthen our mind-body connection. With this strengthened connection, it becomes easier to understand our strengths and challenges. It provides insight into the concerns we are consciously or unconsciously aware of. However, mere insight is not enough to positively improve mental health. It is the understanding of concern from various aspects, thinking and planning of ways to resolve concern and acting towards resolution that will bring true harmony. That is how it will improve your mental health!
