Usually the tests online say if you have symptoms of depression. If you want to get tested and diagnosed, I would recommend meet a psychiatrist and/or clinical psychologist in person. That will be the best way to do so.

A quick way to check if you are depressed is asking yourself a couple of questions - 1. Do I feel good about myself? 2. Do I love the way, my life is planning out right now? If you answer 'No' or a "I don't know' to any one of these questions, it will be a good idea to speak to a counsellor and look further into it. Online tests are a set of generalised questions that help to access whether you are depressed or not, but its not foolproof. If you feel you are depressed - better to talk to a counsellor.

The tests on depression which are available online are not reliable or valid in most cases. So if you are sad or have low mood for more than 2 months, if you have disturbed sleep i.e. too much sleep or too less sleep or early awakening, too much appetite or too less appetite, irritability. Weight loss or weight gain, suicidal feeling - then you must consult a Clinical Psychologist to find out if you are suffering from depression. If you have depression - you need proper treatment.

Honestly, there is no test for depression, however symptoms that you report can help identify the support you need. You can feel really low everyday because of your job, that does not necessarily mean you're depressed. It is best to speak to a therapist or a doctor for a thorough assessment.
