I find it difficult to let go of the things that have happened in the past, they still affect me emotionally. What should I do??

First of all you need to understand this - most of us (if not all of us) have had incidents/experiences in the past that we still remember and it does affect us in varying degrees. You are not alone in this. Maybe its things others have done to us, things we have done to others or just unfortunate things that happen. In such cases we need to reconcile with/resolve these experiences. Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Counseling, Hypnotherapy, etc. will help. A therapist will help you revisit the difficult incidents/experiences in a safe environment and help you resolve and reconcile with it. Handling the experience in this manner is safe, positive and will help you close the incident/experience favorably.
