You are not obligated to share any personal details on this platform, not even your name. There may be some details that the Counselor may ask you depending on the issue you want to discuss but you can refuse to share whatever you do not fee comfortable sharing. Counsellors are ethically bound to confidentiality, they cannot share anything that happened in the session unless bound by law to do so. With the counsellor, if you feel uncomfortable talking or sharing you are given the choice to exit the conversation anytime. So basically the control is with you. I am here to help and support you in whatever you choose to bring to our conversation. The details that you share will be just between you and the counsellor. There isn't an expectation to immediately trust your Counsellor but to talk to them and if you find the conversation helpful in anyway you can slowly decide to open up.

Greetings and compliments to Srishti for resolving so lightly and putting all control in the hands of counselee. Sharing and discussing difficulties does not lead to blackmail.
